A passport serves as a travel document issued to Singapore citizens for the purpose of travelling abroad. You may apply for a passport online if:
- It is your first time applying for a passport
- Your passport is running out of pages
- Your passport has expired, or is expiring in nine months or less
- Your passport is lost or damaged
You will need the following documents to complete your passport application. Please have them ready before you apply:
- A passport-sized, digital, colour photograph taken within the last three months
The
Immigration & Checkpoint Authority (ICA)’s passport photo requirements are
based on specifications by the International Standards Organisation (ISO) and
the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO).

Note: Your application will be delayed if your photograph does not meet our requirements. We will notify you via post/email if your photo is rejected.
If you reside in Singapore, you can submit your application via the following modes.
Online
Log in to our e-Service using your Singpass to complete the online application form.

By Post or Deposit Box
Obtain a Singapore Passport Application Form (PDF, 242KB).
Post your completed application form to:

ICA Building

Singapore 208718
Alternatively, drop it in the deposit box at Level 1, ICA Building, during operating hours from 8.00 am to 4.30 pm on Mondays to Fridays.
The deposit box will not be available after operating hours, including weekends and Public Holidays.
For Singapore Citizens Residing Overseas
Log in to our e-Service using your Singpass to complete the online application form, or submit the Singapore Passport Application Form (overseas) (PDF, 124KB) in person at a Singapore Overseas Mission.
A S$70 fee is payable if you apply online, by post, or deposit box. A S$80 fee is payable for application submitted over counter at ICA building or at Singapore Overseas Mission.
If your passport is lost or damaged, you will need to pay the passport fee as stated above and the following non-refundable penalty fees for a replacement passport:
- S$50 for the first replacement
- S$100 for subsequent replacements
For online applications, payment can be made using either:
- Visa or MasterCard credit/debit card
- American Express (AMEX) credit card
- Internet direct debit (DBS/POSB, OCBC, UOB and Standard Chartered Bank internet banking accounts in Singapore)
- PayNow
For applications by post or deposit box, payment can be made using either:
- Visa or MasterCard credit/debit card
- American Express (AMEX) credit card
From 1 January 2020, newborn Singapore Citizens will enjoy waiver of first passport application fee if:
- Application is submitted on or before child's first birthday
- The application is submitted via MyICA
Local
The processing time for a passport is around one to two weeks upon ICA's receipt of the application. The processing time will be longer if your photograph does not meet the requirements.
You will be notified of the outcome by post or email. Please check your email.
Overseas
The processing time for a passport is around four to six weeks upon ICA’s receipt of the application, if you have submitted all the necessary documents. The processing time will be longer if your photograph does not meet the requirements.
You will be notified of the outcome by email. For all successful applications, the passport will be sent to the selected Singapore Overseas Mission.
Passport Validity
From 1 Oct 2021, Singapore passports issued for citizens aged 16 and above are valid for 10 years.
For citizens below the age of 16, the passport validity is 5 years. For the 5-year passports, the
remaining validity from the previous passport, up to a maximum of 9 months, may be carried over to the renewed passport.
