ICA Services Centre to Operate from Monday to Friday
From 2 September 2024, the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) Services Centre located at the ICA Building will operate from Monday to Friday (except Public Holidays), instead of Monday to mid-day Saturday. The operating hours from Monday to Friday will remain unchanged, from 8.00am to 4.30pm.
2. ICA has made significant strides in the digital transformation of our services. This transformation has significantly reduced the need for customers to visit the ICA Building in person. Instead, they can transact with ICA anytime and from anywhere, given that most of our services are now conveniently available online.
3. Between 2019 and 2023, the volume of visits to the ICA Services Centre on Saturdays dropped by about 50%. Today, close to 95% of ICA’s customers submit their applications online.
4. We have also made changes to the form of our documents, from physical to digital, such as birth and death certificates and long-term passes (Long-Term Visit Pass and Student’s Pass) since May 2022 and February 2023 respectively. These digital documents can be easily retrieved without needing to make physical trips to the ICA Building. They are accessible via multiple platforms - MyICA mobile app, MyICA e-Service on the ICA website, My Legacy portal, or FileSG.[1]
5. Currently, the passport and identity card are the only documents issued by ICA that require physical collection. To provide convenience to customers, ICA had tied up with Singapore Post Limited (SingPost) to enable passport and identity card collection at designated SingPost outlets islandwide.[2]All of these outlets are open on Saturdays and some are also open on Sundays. Close to 70% of passports and identity cards are now collected at these designated SingPost outlets.
6. ICA will continue to innovate and leverage technology to further streamline processes and enhance the service experience for our customers.
