Loss of Passport

If your passport is lost, you should report it immediately. Refer to ‘Procedure’ section below for details.
Passports reported lost cannot be used, even if later recovered. If you recover your passport after submitting the loss report, you must surrender it to ICA within 14 days, as required under the law (Passports Act 2007). The passport cannot be used after it has been reported as lost. Failure to surrender a recovered passport is an offence. You could face a fine/and or imprisonment.
Note: Under the Passports Act (Chapter 220), you must report a lost passport within 14 days of losing it. We recommend you report it immediately.
You will need the following information to report the loss of passport:
Online
- Singpass login
- Details on how the passport was lost
Over the counter at ICA Building
- Your digital / physical IC (for adults) or birth certificate (for applicants aged below 16*)
- Details on how the passport was lost
Please note: A police report is not required for the replacement of Singapore passport.
*The applicant’s parent is required to report in person, together with the applicant.
Reporting Lost Passport Online
- Click on the “Report Online” button to report the loss of the passport.
- You can only report the loss of passport online for yourself and your child (below 16 years old).
- If the circumstances of the loss of your child’s passport is different, you will be required to make a separate report for your child.
If you require a new passport, please submit a passport application one working day after reporting the loss of your passport.
Reporting Lost Passport at ICA Building
Come in person with the relevant documents to:

Operating hours are from 8.00 am to 4.30 pm on Mondays to Fridays. Closed on weekends and Public Holidays.
Longer-than-average waiting times are to be expected on the following peak times:
- Mondays, Fridays;
- School holidays
- The day before or after a public holiday
Reporting Lost Passport Overseas
You may make an online report of the lost passport by clicking the “Report Online” button above or approach the nearest Singapore Overseas Mission with the relevant documents.
You will need to pay the following non-refundable fees in addition to the prevailing passport fee of S$70 (for applications submitted online, by post, or deposit box) or S$80 (for applications submitted over the counter at ICA Building or at the Singapore Overseas Mission):
- S$50 (for the first passport loss)
- S$100 (for subsequent losses)
