Family Members

Dear family members

Setting up a second home in a foreign country can be challenging with a different culture, a new way of life and new faces. However, your sense of anxiety and uncertainty will quickly vanish once you find out what Singapore has to offer to foreigners and their families here.

Singapore is a cosmopolitan country. Its multi-racial and multicultural society and community bring with it a rich and colourful potpourri of customs. You quickly feel comfortable with the Singapore way of life and its 4 million smiles. You feel that you are not far from home.
Dependant Pass Holders who have recently become permanent residents through their spouses/parents, have cited a number of distinct advantages of living, working and learning in Singapore.

They enjoy a standard of living rated amongst the highest in Asia Pacific and comparable to many first world countries. They treasure the comfortable pace of life, quality of education and health care, the good transport and utilities infrastructure, and the feeling of safety and security in a country where crime rates are one of the lowest in the world.

If you would like to encourage your spouse/parent to become a Singapore Permanent Resident (SPR), take the next step and apply together to become a SPR. You will enjoy certain benefits and privileges when you become an SPR. The Permanent Resident Services Centre is the place to visit for more information:

Permanent Resident Services Centre
5th Storey, ICA Building
10 Kallang Road
(Next to Lavender MRT station)
Singapore 208718

You can obtain an application form from the Centre. Alternatively, you may also download the application form here.
