Foreign Employers & Employees

Dear foreign employers, employees

You are part of a vibrant global city that is Singapore and your contributions have been much appreciated.

Singapore is one of the safest and cleanest countries in the world with high employment rate, financial and political stability, opportunities for good education and excellent healthcare. Our country is a mix of different cultures and religions woven together by a common respect and appreciation of these differences. Freedom of worship is enshrined in our Constitution. When you become a permanent resident, you earn the right to work in this global city permanently. You will enjoy certain benefits and privileges such as tax relief for CPF contributions, healthcare subsidies and fewer restrictions for purchase of selected properties. When your children also become permanent residents, they will be eligible for education and childcare subsidies.

Employment Pass Holders who have recently become permanent residents have cited a number of distinct advantages of living and working in Singapore.

They said that taxes here are more favourable and often lower than in many other global cities, and they liked the transparent way the Singapore Government uses the funds from taxation to better the lives of permanent residents and citizens. The bilingual education system is also an attractive way of keeping language and cultural roots intact for a country with many diverse races.
